California Bar Prep — Privacy Policy

California Bar Prep (“we”, “us”) is a mobile app that helps people study for the California Bar Exam. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We do not sell your personal data.

Information we collect

• Account information — if you create an account, your email address and display name, handled by Google Firebase Authentication.
• Study activity — your progress, practice-test attempts and preferences, stored in Google Firebase Firestore to sync your experience.
• Purchase information — subscription status is managed by RevenueCat and Apple. We never receive or store your payment card details.
• Advertising identifiers — for users on the free tier, Google AdMob may use a device identifier to serve non-personalized ads.

How we use information

• To provide and sync your lessons, practice tests, and progress.
• To manage premium subscriptions and restore purchases.
• To show ads on the free tier (non-personalized).
• To maintain security and improve the app.

Data sharing

We share data only with service providers that operate the app: Google Firebase (authentication, database), RevenueCat and Apple (subscriptions), and Google AdMob (advertising). We do not sell personal data or use it to track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

Data retention & deletion

You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Delete Account, which permanently removes your account and associated study data. You may also email us to request deletion.

Children

The app is intended for adults preparing for the bar exam and is not directed to children under 13.
